What Would You Do? Poem by I write because I have to

What Would You Do?

If the world was flat and the horizon was at your back would you walk away from the sun without turning back?
Embracing the shadows, defying defeat, would you lasso the moon with the tide at your feet?
What would you do if the earth opened up and the ground rained upwards and the clouds closed shut?
Would you save all the tears that you've shed all these years and swim deep inside them to drown all your fears?
If every shadow of every shade eclipsed all your light and darkened your way, would you have the might to shine bright until night became day?
If everyone that did their part to hurt your heart expressed remorse, would you take in stride like its par for the course
Would you reciprocate the hate to the face of your foe, or would you know to face your own fate and just let it go?
Searching for answers to questions inside, would you learn lessons when questions and logic collide?
Would you find a way to fix problems and solve them or would your resolve be to let time dissolve them?
What will you do when its all said and done, when in loss you're lamenting or in triumph you've won...
when the trials have ceased and doom's hold has released, what will you do when the road is too steep
and the mountain's too high and the sky is too low and of course you feel lost and there's nowhere to go,
who will you turn to and what will you do when horizons end in the darkness in you?
