I don’t think you know all you mean to me
When we message across cold miles
When we cry through careworn smiles
I have to stop myself to try to recall
How I felt before the fall
And I realize, then and there with words mid air
That you don’t know all you mean to me
Because when I was at the end you kept me going
Kept me going, picked me up, moved me onward
Kept me from sliding, kept my heart looking forward
To what I did not know back then
As I could not tell you where or when
And I could never repay your kindness or goodness
Because when I was at the end you kept me going
When I was alone you gave my life purpose
Made me believe in better than what I knew
Made me feel how empty I was without you
Now, I sit here and I think of us
Whether we could now, just because
And I see that who I want to be is who you taught me to be
Since when I was alone you gave my heart purpose
