Whatever Poem by Kate Austin

Whatever

</>if one was to take a stroll in my head
all they'd find was dust instead
rusted cogs and jammed-up gears
broken dreams and diamond tears

there's that memory I'd been searching for
but it's not important anymore
I lost my mind a long time ago
searching for the life that I'd let go

it slipped through my fingers all too fast
yet the hurt I feel, that still hasn't passed
I can feel it slipping away, the life I knew
the love that I had, it's draining through

the hollow bones of my body, the dead organs inside
don't even try to fake that you cried
it's over now, i'm a long time gone
the sun will rise and it's a new dawn

there is nothing but black behind my eyes
this thing called hope...it was just all lies
