Whatever Works Poem by Gio Masserati

Whatever Works

Pretentious
Impressions
Hallucinations
Public Displays
Pretending for Show
Whatever floats your boat

Be careful to not be Spoon-fed!

By and by
Society-Media-Government-Friends-Family-Images-Compliments Etc...
Weigh all motives
Make checks and balances
Starting with yourself

Cocky stance
I know your kind
You'll never care
To know the real me
Only shiny leftover scraps
Disengaging
Whichever way the wind blows

Intuition-I know
How this story ends
Before it begins
So let me stop you mister
Right there Mr.
Like headlights to a deer
However stark the headspin

...and everyone lived
Happily ever-like never
More like everyone lives
Happily...but
Obviously screwed up
Clueless
To how life can have
a Living, Breathing
Happily Forever After
Life could be so much more
...but...
