When - Poem by Bryony Bratchell

When, when will I learn
Each second a lesson
Each forgotten in turn
Every word is one more lie

When, when will you see
Locked away in your dressing room
Fame isn't all it's cracked up to be
Every word sounds less like you

When, when will he know
That secrets are being told
And his whole past is on show
Every word destroys all he built

When, when will she believe
There is nothing left to save
All she can do is leave
Every word will make it harder

When, when will they confess
The world is falling apart
They left us in this mess
Every word is a mask they wear
