When Ashleigh Smiles Poem by Peter Davidyock

When Ashleigh Smiles

Come and lay down next to me
And walk with me a while
Let's journey through a well locked door
And let me tell you of your smile

Your smile is like a breath of life
I drink it every day
I stand in awe and stop and stare
When it comes out to play

Your beauty it adores you
If you could only see
The way it wakes my memories
The way it talks to me

Your smile is like the morning sun
It's captured in your eyes
And now the time it has arrived
To tell you of our ties

For lifetimes I've remembered
That day so long ago
The first time that you smiled at me
And set my heart a glow

Lives have come and lives have gone
But your smile it still persists
Through all the lifetimes we have shared
Seems every time we've missed

I've known your smile forever
Yet as temptation prays
Every time you flash that smile
I'm simply drunk for days

Your beauty it adores you
I thought that you should know
That I saw you smiling yesterday
In a lifetime long ago.
