When At Peace And In Silence Poem by Mohammad Younus

When At Peace And In Silence

When My Heart Is At Peace

When my heart is at peace
and in silence --
deep and profound,
I hear songs of love and behold --
verdant dreams.
Under the divine lamp --
golden, ever burning,
I sit to hear the divine melody --
reverberating all about,
All the while in my heart and soul.
O My Beloved,
Pelease teach me art of love,
To love you in light and dark.
To dance to your holy music,
upon a spinning floor.
To dance without extremities,
Like waves upon the sea surface.
Wake up me from deep sleep,
For sweet romance with you,
The while my beating pulse sings out,
Your name, within melodic rhyme,
Your love like fire, all flamed and red,
Burns me like a phoenix,
To give me a new life again.
One blink and my new life opens doors,
Bless me with joy and life of each new morn,
As dark night allows space to bright day.
And rise my soul, as a new days sun,
Till death says I'll never visit you.
