When Colours Define Taste Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

When Colours Define Taste

I love red meat
Or maybe its the proteins
Well even red beans'll scream it loud
But for me red meat it is

Like I said I love red meat
Boiled, braaid or fried I don't mind
So long the proteins at the end of the day
Even though the whole egg can still provide the same

I like red meat without a doubt
The threat of gout scares me not
I'd rather enjoy the taste of protein therein
Than the pale one in chicken breast

Well I guess it is the colour n' taste
But not all pasta's tasty proteins
Goat milk's belies its paleness
Goat cheese's loaded, the smell fails it
