When Death Knocks Poem by Alonzo Titus

When Death Knocks

Death has stocked us since our birth
as it has any one born on earth,
Animal, human, fish or other,
will be stocked by death,
until life is over,
life itself is what death will take
it's something no living thing can shake,
but what will happen when life is gone
will we still exist in another zone,
or is there another life after death
one free of human restraints like flesh,
or will all consciousness fade away
to never return on any day,
or will we witness the passing of time
and be aware with a cognitive mind.

No one can say
only faith can find,
the answer to death
that befuddles our mind,
the natural man can not understand
the nuance of the Holy Scripture at hand,
and the relationship that must prevail
between God and man beyond the travail
of that which was suffered upon a cross
so that death can not bring a total loss,
the answer to death lies in Gods hand
whose only son paid the price for man.
God has shined his light upon the world
who rejected it and set their own path.

We may shake our fist and say God is dead,
claim to be atheist and feel we're ahead,
we may laugh at death and spit in it's eye
but I've seen many close to death who cry,
please God help me now
I'm frightened and don't know why,
Few at death spit in Gods eye.
What will become of you when death is at your door
are you ready to let your life soar.
