When I Dance Poem by Mark Heathcote

When I Dance

When I dance
When I dance, I feel the music
She's like a Latin lover in my feet.
She's like a butterfly, beating in my heart
She's like a leaping wave over a harbour wall
And in those still moments in-between
She's like a doe white deer, leading me home
Through a field untrod wet with dew
When I dance, I feel the music
And dream I am with you
When I dance.
