When I Grow Up Poem by Patrick Akhudu

When I Grow Up

I'll grow up one day
To be a light to behold.
Success and admiration
Will decorate my name.

Just let me grow up
Into the next Serena;
The golden tennis idol,
So gifted so famous!

I'll become a songbird,
Like that Beatrice Egli.
Around the wide world,
I'll do gigs and get rich!

Or I'll become a Filmstar
Another legendary Lupita
Hollywood, here I come!
Just wait I first grow up.

Imagine myself at 20:
Mansions, flashy cars…
Another Naomi Campbell
Living large as a model!

I can't wait to grow up!
I fancy fashion designing,
May be like Louis Vuitton,
I'll live a trendy posh life.

Just wait and you'll see;
I am that true promise
Growing with giftings
That will bear my dreams!
