When I Look Around To My Surroundings Poem by Rahma Rayis

When I Look Around To My Surroundings

Rating: 5.0

As I look into the world to take a deeper look,
I am immediately filled with concern,
For all I find is myself at loss of what we made it become,
I am mourning the world we lost,
The beauty of the forgotten nature and the calmness of the air,
As all that remains is the dreadful pollution,
Left to annihilate the significance.

Now, I search for an antidote to heal this madness,
But the pain does not subside,
As the cure for this takes effort,
One thing I find many do not have,
I see that everyone turns a blind eye,
An eye that is pressed shut with arrogance.

So I hope the people to come later have more of a heart,
The kindness to the earth that will heal it, to help it not fall apart.
Or maybe a person to come that finds the much-needed cure,
So others are not deprived of seeing the world positively,
So that at least someone could say that they had seen a beautiful scenery,
A scenery that is not so gloomy and dark to the extent that it could be questioned if it actually could be considered as one.
