When I Think Of Her Poem by John Carter Brown

When I Think Of Her

WHEN I THINK OF HER

Time is a stealer, a thief in the night
A maker of mischief, hated on sight
but over the seasons, in memories and sleep
I keep up my dreaming, and I think of her

I'm bound and determined, and I'll never cheat
I'll hold to the notion, I will not retreat
through certain persistence, I'll win in the end
the hand of my true love, as I think of her

Time is a healer, that's what they all say
but I was in pieces, when she went away
now I find my comfort, in memories and sleep
and in those precious moments, when I think of her
when I think of her.
