When Love Turns To Loathe Poem by chris schwartz

When Love Turns To Loathe

Take the pole
Doing ninety five
With you riding shotgun
I'm barely alive
But still breathing.
The last thing
I want to pick up
Is you
But once again
I have to.

Funny how love turns
To loath.
Crazy how smiles
Make you want
To just go away.
But you don't
Disappear.
You never disappear.

Blood moon on the weekend
Says change is gonna happen
From where I'm standing
You shoudn't get
Into this car.

You never rode the storm
When it was brewing
And somehow
You're the cloud
That still lingers
Keeps the sun from
Shining here.

Funny how love
Turns to loathe.
Crazy how smiles
Make you want
To just go away.
But you don't disappear.
You never
Disappear.

What else can you take
From the hand
You've been given?
Leave slime on the stones
In the creek
Stones so beautifully placed
By your heart so cold.
In the erosion
Of you and I
I panned for gold
And found him.
I found us.
In our hell,
I found the gift you
Finally gave me.

Funny how love
Turns to loathe.
Crazy how smiles
Make me just want to
Run away.
But you won't let me
Disappear.
You think that I'm still
Here.
I just want to disappear.
From your life.
