What Makes Love Last Poem by chris schwartz

What Makes Love Last

Rating: 5.0

When dreams collide
And the chapters are done
We are nothing more
Then characters
In a well-acted play.
You expected me to believe
The scene was real
But then..
The curtain closed.
I was blinded
By a dark stage
Once again.
When the music played,
You didn't enter,
So is the brilliance
Of William.
He was the first
To capture heartbreak
In words
To those who would
Still listen.
His words,
Forever guilded,
In time,
Trying to figure out,
What makes love last.
