When One Day Comes Poem by Michael Brewer

When One Day Comes

I fight the world without aggression

calm and peace my imperfection

respect is given yet not received

disrespect or disbelief

what shall happen when one day comes

that all my anger shall succumb

when the darkest shadow starts to poke

to make fun of and to joke

instead of cowering behind a false face

and stand up straight and take my place

instead of a shield i pick up a sword

and against the odds my courage roars
