When Senses Fail Poem by Mackenzie Scholte

When Senses Fail

Your breath
Tastes like your last cup of coffee
You smell like the chapstick,
That you're lips stole from mine
Your hands on me,
Feel like fire that spreads over my body
Your eyes look deep as the ocean
And I can see that you long for me
When you breath, it comes ragged in my ear
But even over this,
I can hear your heart beating
And when senses fail,
I will still love you
Because in your breath,
And the way your lips brushed mine as you stole,
The fire your hands ignite,
The depth of your eyes,
And even in your beating heart
You show me you love me
And that goes byond my senses
That is written on your heart
And mine
