When The World Is Dark - Dream Poem by Jona PoloRamirez

When The World Is Dark - Dream

My feelings were falling apart like
A detritus falling away into nothingness.

Then YOU came and inspired me to dream on,
A dream short of colour because the dark clouds
Suddenly drifted by, just dark and grey.
The sole of my feet is white, the shadow
Behind - hazy, fifteen parallel white straight lines
Perpendicular to each other, the front to my eyes
Shorter, than the one to the right of my eye,
Below a series of rectangles leaning to each other
For support, but they lack the colours, their dull
Images make the eyes long for lustrous meadows.

Greenfields with multicoloured tulips as far as
The eyes can see... the windmills rolling forwards
But steady in their place and stocked in motes,
Now the dream strecthes beyong reality, more lustrous
Meadows of rolling hills beyond the towering windmills,
Each rectangular meadows divided by strecthes of rivers
Flowing down where the lower water table waits.

This is paradise, now I see an angel riding a unicorn,
I am glad You came, not only did YOU teach me
How to dream, YOU showed me what to dream,
Please wake me up if I am sleeping, for someday
I would like to come back to this dream.
