When Those You Complain To Poem by Francis Duggan

When Those You Complain To

When those you complain to of your life's troubles of their own troubles have more than enough
No point in you grumbling of how times on you are tough
With your financial situation they cannot help you in any way
And money speaks every language as the wise one does say
Though verbal support from your friends to you does count
Their sympathetic words to you to little does amount
Since financially they cannot help you they themselves are in poverty
Of debt just like you they may never be free
The wealthy and the poor with each other never socialize
And this true to say is not any surprise
Birds of a feather mostly flock together with humans it mostly is this way
This is how it was and it is and how it will stay
And those you complain to of your poor financial situation may express sympathy for you
But nothing else for you to help they can do.
