When thunder and lightning strike deep within,
Whatever part of the inner self they hit,
The divine part remains unscathed and unharmed,
Their strikes will surely bounce back, undeterred.
The tree of life in the heart's vast forest
Stands firm on its roots, unshaken,
It will not fall nor utter a sound of fear.
The only witnesses to the external storm
Are the leaves that hit the ground,
The leaves that wither and fall,
and branches that break off.
They seem weak once they fall, but surely,
The tree of life is not fragile or mortal,
Rather the opposite indeed—strong,
Everlasting, and immortal.
And when blossoms and fruits fall,
Their seeds take root in the earth.
They may have tumbled down before,
But many new trees will now grow forevermore
