When Valentines Is Over Poem by Sailing to windward

When Valentines Is Over

Ice blue midnight slipped into snow
And the starchy double sheets became cold,
too cold for just one to slip between.

Will those trembling minutes.
waiting for warmth,
freeze into solid years?

and will those constantly played
monochrome repeats ever
be warmed, coloured and remade,
with a new cast?
