When We Were Young Poem by Joyce Hemsley

When We Were Young

A fearsome wind blew,
and the mountain was steep;
we climbed it together,
our love was so deep.

Not one soul did we see,
not one bird on the wing;
both blind to all others...
young love was everything.

Now the sun always shines,
no grey clouds up above,
we weathered life's storm
so deep was our love.
