When We Will Be Free Poem by Ebuka Prince Okoroafor

When We Will Be Free

Day shall come
when we will be free
from darkness to light
from the shakles of stray dreams
from the pains done but untold:
like the slavery of abortion
like immorality's fieldday on the streets
like the poor that died in the waiting
like the child with enclaved rights
like the youth without a voice
the sun will rise early on that day,
when we will be free
as free and as bold
when we will be louder than this scilent killer.
