When Will Hatred Cease Poem by Levi Oguike

When Will Hatred Cease

When Will Hatred Cease.
Culture: diversity
And religion: sect
Both culprits of hatred
Yet love preached
Goodwill to all men
And peace on earth dwell
At every congregation
It is the admixtures
Of both that ignite
Hate, with passion
For we are different
Their people and our people
Only the poor manage
To stay together
In the open markets, and
Fast Foods outlets
The Malls are different
Segregate they, their goods
The classic wares
And the rejects
Without labels
Out of pack as demos
So also the large
Groceries on 'sale season'
Canned products without labels
Display 'All for $1 One dollar' each
Who is patronising who?
And finally Money adds the cap
On hatred!
That spectacle of lifestyle, so extravagant
This season, please reflect ye on expense
To incur for the sake
Of our common humanity
As Christmas reminds all of sacrifice
Of great price and love for mankind
That God so loved the world
That His only begotten Son
Gave He, for all who believe
To Redemption earn.
Man to love God his Creator
And his neighbour love
The whole duty of man
And hatred cease.
The free gift of Christianity
Merry Christmas to All.
Who profess Love.
