When With Inward Eye, I See... Poem by Mohammad Younus

When With Inward Eye, I See...

When with Inward eye, I see...
...I find my true essence bright,
Like the sun's light refracted...
...into the soul's clear mirror.

A wonder it is, from one Source...
...to flow the light into the bodies...
...beyond count, to be their essence.

Only with divine Light can one see...
...His real Essence,
When one sees his essential self...
...the seer and the Seen appear to him...
...essentially One,

Looking into essences of everything, ...
...one finds to his surprise that...
The Real is revealing Himself...
...in all things of the creation.

Realising the unity of essence...
...in each and everything...
In the diverse manifestation...
...confusion of One, two, and many...
...will disappear.

Go beyond body and soul!
Look beyond the veils!
Because all must perish but His face...
The Truth Himself foretold in His Book.

Vision of Him demands true love...
...pure faith, and divine intellect...
...to see that the Essence is only one...
as waves upon the sea,
as ears and hearing,
as brain and thinking, or
as eye and sight.

As We are one with Him, in essence,
So, seek Him who holds your heart,
Within yourself, singing ' I Am's' melody.
