When You Give - Poem by RIC BASTASA

do not let
your hand
know

when you
forgive
do not
even give
hint
to the protests
of your mind

touch
the malefactor
with
the slightest
sigh
of your
forgetting

and let
him go
like he
never did
any wrong
to you

and tell
him
he must
do the
same
to the one
who also
harms
him
