When You Look At Me Poem by Caroline Guedes

When You Look At Me

When you look at me
I see so many things
I see the intensity of your feelings for me
I see your insecurites
I see your vulnerability
but the best thing I see
When you look at me
it the little boy inside of you
he's scared, he's endearing
he thinks he's ready but he doesn't see
that I feel the same way
When he looks at me

When you look at me
I see you seaching me
for signs, for secret glimses
it's like you're waiting for me
to make the first move
But I'm shaking inside
I'm more frightened than you
Although sometimes your stare
intimidates me and I look away
I have to say
I love when you look at me

When you look at me
Something happens to me
Inside I seem to come alive
I'm aware of nothing else but you
I only watch your eyes and your lips
they both talk to me
They want to say
All the things I'm too afraid
to speak for fear of rejection
so we keep our hearts quiet
But I love when you look at me

Your poem makes me laugh, not that there is anything wrong, but it is so true in my own life. I think it takes a certain person to understand this language of love, of seeking and finding of giving and recieving, not so much the gifts but the giver. When you look at me states the hidden search, an anticipation, for the same things we wish to do.. Caroline your words are music to my soul. Keep writing..
