Where God Dwelt In Man Poem by Visato Kiso

Where God Dwelt In Man

There once was a man, who trampled on earth;
To seek the unknown creator; Who!
By Himself hath curved 'tis loveliness?

He know no God, but beauty;
He utter'd no prayer, but loves;
He saw no prophet, but is truthful;
He hath no church, but is faithful;
He read no Bible, but is kind and forgiving;
He heard no preacher, but is honest;
He accept no Baptism, but is humble;
He felt no spirit, but is at peace;
He gave no offerings, but helps;
He sang no hymns, but is grateful;
He carry no Cross, but is fearless;
He knew no Commandments, but hurt none;
He possess'd no gifts, but work hard;
He perform'd no miracle, but is happy;

He walk'd and talk'd softly,
He smiles at children and they did.

He found a church, a preacher and many followers;
He recit'd the Commandments, saw miracles, talk'd to the gifted;
Perplex'd! he found no man whereth God dwelt!

He died, almost a century after, with few mourners;
But God found him! For he dote God's ways!
