Where I Belong Poem by Mira Begum

Where I Belong

I ask life for nothing grand,
No endless skies, no promised land.
Just a little peace within my soul,
And a road that leads me to my goal.

A path that may be long or slow,
But knows exactly where I need to go.
And someone who will walk beside me,
Not just for a moment, but through eternity.

Someone who stays when the nights grow cold,
Who holds my hand when I lose my hold.
Someone who walks through every bend,
A stranger at first, but a forever friend.

And if fate would grant me just one prayer,
I'd ask for a little magic in the
air__
A prayer strong enough to change my way,
And turn my darkness into brighter days.

And I don't ask for a perfect life,
Just a little peace amidst the strife.
A road that leads me where I belong,
And a soul beside me, walking along.
