Where I'm From Beth Poem by Year seven

Where I'm From Beth

I am from Mum and Dad's old apartment in London
I am from my baby's scream, louder than the ambulance siren
I am from the little shed full of little things
it must be bigger on the inside with all those little things
I am from the fresh cut grass and lavender -paved front garden
I am from Year 3 when everything went dark
I am from the school they call NPS.

I am from the village school that spoiled my love of tag
and from when Aunt Penny died which split my heart in half.
I am from the farm, the lake and my milli0ons of cousins
I am from Harley Quinn who breaks all the rules
and the joker I learned to love who makes the rules.

I am from those pink cupcake leggings I can't seem to get rid of
and 'Death Hill' that left me scarred for life
I am from corn on the cob and burgers at the farm
I am from the ashes of Great-Grandad at 103
I miss him but I'm not sure he misses me.

I am from the chord of C that I have so many songs around
and the peddle that slurs the sound
I am from the music, the thrill of Jazz and Blues
I am from the pianos and fortes of life.

I am from changing schools and failing a test
it was unfair because I did my best
I am from the bullying that caused me constant strife
and I am from the people who raised me
the people who love and care for me
my friends and family who are always there.
