Where I'm From Peter Poem by Year seven

Where I'm From Peter

I am from church services
always too long
from the li'l tree my Grandma gave me
when I was only three
I'm from holidays in Switzerland
where my deep love of Kandersteg was born

I'm from sibling fights and sibling might
from England to Turkey in my first flight
I'm from the loss of Midnight to the rejoice of new life

I'm from syringe-feeding the kittens, not knowing if they'll live or die
From the smell of boiling skin when my Dad accidentally poured it on my face
I'm from mad priests and beef casserole

I'm from my Dad's pizza to the squeaky chicken terrorising my cats
I'm from Doctor Who and my Mum's fudge sauce slipping down my throat for the first time

I'm from Harriet leaving for Cambridge, my Dad in tears at the party
From cow manure filling my nostrils
I'm from Stoke and bad haircuts and remarks of "All done, duck! "

I'm from the pain and sadness of death
Not of human but feline - Midnight.
