Where I'M From Poem: My Version Poem by Vindya Pon

Where I'M From Poem: My Version

I am from our little sandbox
From swing sets and slides.
I am from lightning bugs
Glowing the dim sky.

I am from Rex
The old dog,
And from Peggy
The new one.

I am from my mom’s vegetable curry
To my grandma’s warm hugs
And my dad’s thoughtful gifts
That always makes me smile.

I am from Georgia summers
To Pennsylvania winters.
From bedtime songs
To always doing my best.

I am from Indian cultures
From way back when.

I am from scrapbooks under my bed
And from my closet.
I am from the moments
That I will never forget.
