Where Is Love Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Where Is Love

Absent from society as we know it islove
Society is absent from the hearts of many
Folkways now are not conductive to the
welfare of the peoples
Some say we've come a long way from Eden
So much for the illiteracy of the masses
who believe
Leaving most ignorant as to where we
are presently
Containing vast majorities of society are
our asylums, our prisons, our hospitals all
void of love
Does man really understand one another,
or does man care
Fleeting memories with no compassion
to reflect
Now, love is not soothing like aloe
It is hard and rough like the shale on which
the grains of hatred beat in vain
Where is love
