' WHERE IS THAT ROUND THING ON YOUR FOREHEAD? '
I am not asking 'lets get married' or 'marry me'
I just want someone to understand my feelings, my emotion.
I am tired of listening to the voice of the strangers over the phone;
When I return home;
I would like to hear the voice of the person I am thinking of on my way home;
Walking on the white fluffy snow, at the end of the day.
I am not asking someone to bring me his salary at the end of the month;
I want someone to share his shoulder with me to cry on.
I just want someone empathize me in my sadness.
I just want someone to be beside me in the silence of my solitudes.
We both know,
In this age of gender-equality, the earning of a woman, gave a man freedom of taking care of his wife financially.
Therefore,
I am not asking anyone to open my ‘almira' holding his heavy wallet.
Rather,
I want some one to ask me whether I need some matching bangles with my saree to celebrate Boishakh or whether he needs to ask the shopkeeper to reopen his shop for my need of a ‘kajol'
Or should he mix a little more chilly in the mashed potato along with onion and mustard oil as I like it a little more spicy,
I can do grocery shopping or buy expensive branded commodities from super malls all by myself.
I want someone to unzip my dress
Or,
Button up my blouse,
Or,
Hook up my necklace,
when I can't reach it.
I am not asking anyone that he has to love me
All I want is,
Someone to be faithful and loyal
Not tired of his wife living far away from him.
I want someone to assure me
Even with a little huff, that he will come and knock my door at middle of the night to surprise me
He may not be the companion of my sleepless night
But,
In a beautiful dawn, I want him to knock at my door and ask the surprised me: ' Where is that round thing on your forehead? '
