Where Is The Point Poem by Stephen Gregory

Where Is The Point

go back...you say
to good 'ole days'
'ole boys' and fools repeat
ad infinite, it seems
those that have...
no time logic require
to ponder rudimentary
to conquer as the potty
but days are ways
for those that need
go back, escape, regain
the path uncluttered by what was
the pain is gone
the moment once again
that painful moment
gone so familiar
yet overcome much quicker
the ruler of the memory
has time for only glory
of 20 grands, and other things
a dance without a partner
oh silly fool
but yet there's you
the center of attention
remnants of rituals
meant to be
gifts... though giver is compelled
by lines devoid of time
return to love not lover
familiar face may be
vivid the snow
life's slush recalled
who is ordained
to lay on hands
allowed to only look
no need of guides
from whence you came
is where you seek to go
here now has lost its meaning
to experience, think, learn
the simple past
no tears, tests, signs
to hinder one
for nothing in required
or learning things...
and growing pains
no looking at life's truths
no tasting it or touching it
just up and walk away
no longer loud
as days when wild
yet memory will shout
look-out... be still
reactions are expected
the fire's hot, the water's not
for sheet... though clean and white
not always meant to comfort
in eulogy's today they say
streets heroes make
still very humble places
vapid of past
will never be...
accessible at all
don't go my man
of species I refer
point out to you
the moment is no longer
once pointed out
there is no doubt
becomes what just occurred
with that is this
the past is gone
the present where
except the one that's here
the future... already here
now is now past... forever more
yet time is now
once was is is
the point is where you put it
the future has no pain as yet
look-out
the past overtook it!
