Where It Hurts The Most Poem by Sam Byron

Where It Hurts The Most

I don’t cry anymore.
The wells in my eyes
Have all run dry.

The excruciating pain
Gone.
Along with my feelings for you.

You won all the battles.
But in the end
You lost me.

You’ve attacked many of my friends.
Who have died.
And are now laying about me.
And as I lay here dying
I know what they went through.
What they all warned me about.

But I ignored their protests
As I revealed to you my weakest points.
Claiming you’ve changed.

As I stand here.
I realize they were right.
You’re taking those points
And are using them against me.

You keep stabbing me
Over
And over
And over again
Right
Where it hurts the most.
