Where Valor Sleeps Poem by Virginia Margaret Moss

Where Valor Sleeps

In this place where valor sleeps
Rest the men and women of honor
Here they lay while families weep
And their restless souls do wonder

They gave their lives for us
To protect us from our foes
They never thought twice when they got on the bus
They knew that death might be the way it goes.

They fought with courage and honor
Never giving up the fight.
I see them with awe and wonder
Hoping the victory is soon in sight

We hope their souls can sleep
As a nation, we're not discouraged
While their families weep
For these men and women of courage

The war goes on from west to east
As their restless souls do fight
We hope that soon they will find their peace
As they fight on through the night.

And fight they will because they must
While their families continue to weep
From early dawn to early dusk
In this place where Valor sleeps.
