Where Would I Be? Poem by James Tiberius

Where Would I Be?

Where Would I Be?

Where would I be? I don't entertain,
This thought, this phrase,
Not in these days;
These days of life, these days of love.
I don't know or care of this…thought,
This idea of "where else'…I. Am. Here.
And while I know not "where else',
Were I not here,
I know I would not care,
As I now do. Because of love,
Because of a gift,
Because of a moment in time;
That changed my mind;
my direction, my intention.
Where would I be?
Somewhere lacking humility,
That's where.
Somewhere where I would be less,
Less involved, less resolved,
Just less; overall.
Where would I be? Alone.
Deaf, mute and blind,
So way far behind, from where I now find,
My mind.
He is here. Always.
He knows I'm weak,
And he's here to speak, through my words,
Through my heart, that's my part;
Speak directly to you.
You are so very much loved.
You are so much not alone.
Ask him into you home.
Then you will be where I now stand
And, it's grand. Beyond compare,
Beyond scope, beyond measure;
His treasure.

Where would I be?
To put it simply,
Not this free…
