I Want You There
I want you there, when I die.
When I rise to heavens skies.
I want you there, to see my eyes.
I want you to see my expression
As I get my first glance of heaven
Of the wonder and awe, as I fall.
What an absurd plan, such a fool.
This can't and won't work, it's really uncool.
I get it I do. Bad idea, of no use…
I. DON'T. CARE.
I just want you there,
On the slightest of chance,
That YOU just might have a glance,
A hint, a clue, of what I want for you;
Heaven. Is that so bad? Is that so wrong,
That I want you to belong?
That you're there for my last song?
I want you there, for me…
To document my history.
My insignificant piece,
So, you can witness my relief,
In the end. And as I leave, I will send,
God's love with mine,
It will be, I promise, devine.
If not for you, then for me,
As I face eternity.
If there is the slightest chance
As I leave this wonderful song & dance,
That one day you will join, be with me
in the midst of heaven, eternally.
And, should this not work as I want, that's OK.
Because, at the end of that day.
I will have passed with my dearest,
By my side, holding my hand,
The thought is so grand, to me.
I hope this will be.
Cause we make such a goofy pair,
In the end, if it works out,
I really, really just want you there.
