WHEREVER Poem by Arjen Duinker

WHEREVER

In a bar, wherever it may be,
I talk to myself
To deny the distance.
I admire the empty seat
And the table serving as bait.

In a Lisbon bar
I ask unique heels
To deny what's missing.
I drink the sound of footsteps
Coming close in a skin of vanilla.
