Which Came First Poem by Alfred Ramos

Which Came First

Rating: 5.0

Which came first?
The truth or the lies
Was the truth a setup?
When you looked deep into my eyes

Was the truth a slow dance?
Where we exchanged body heat
In an embrace without romance
Seducing me from head to feet

Which came first?
The promise or the tease
Where you said things
That brought me to my knees

Did you enjoy the pain and the fall?
Or when I stopped breathing
As you choked me to a crawl

Which came first?
The meal or the plan
Where you sliced and diced me
And turned me into half a man

If you have no explanation
And the damage satisfied your thirst
I guess it doesn’t matter
You don’t care which came first

'Was the truth a slow dance? Where we exchanged body heat In an embrace without romance Seducing me from head to feet'... excellent passage, this...tells how we respond when we have to 'move in line' with bitter truths in life...good work, Alfred...10
