While Paled And Withered Leaves... Poem by Mohammad Younus

While Paled And Withered Leaves...

While paled and withered leaves...
...that parting autumn yields...
...the chilling cold waves...
...the incoming winter is sending ahead...
...as a welcome spray;
And the sunless days of winter are crawling on...
...to spread out cold and sullen ice sheets...
...on the water bodies;
And Nature to the lifeless dominion...
...is going to yield...
...stripping her golden and purple autumn robes;
Right in this way now
...throughout the world...
...human life is being deprived...
...of the soft beams of love and peace.

Music, dance, and light...
...that yielded exulting smiles...
...are now parting away...
...and the wild ravens, and the snow leopards...
...to hold sway in the human habitats;
But be sure winter is not...
...going to stay with us for long;
It too will have to yield...
...to the bright and pleasant spring;
Fully-blown forests, meadows and fields... moist with sunny rain...
...will bid goodbye to pensive thoughts in sunken hearts...
...and Winter's grey, and desolate life...
...will yield to death...
...to arise from the dead as the bright spring.
