While We Wait Poem by Edwina Reizer

While We Wait

As we age and become older each day
Too many of us have lost our way.
We become accepting and await our fate.
Usually a little in fear we wait.
The waiting prepares us for what will be
an extraordinary awakening to our destiny.
And what can we make of all of this?
How do we know what we will miss?
We will leave and the bell will toll.
I think that's nonsense for we are soul.
The soul that I am will improvise
music and poetry above the skies.
The soul that I am will sympathize
and prepare new challenges to devise.

As we age it's with fondness we know
that wherever it is that we shall go
We will be welcomed with warm embrace
but shall not forget this earthly place.
So wait we must. We have no choice.
But triumphantly we use our voice
to give thanks for our creation.
