While Your Lips Are Still Red Poem by Wade Fox

While Your Lips Are Still Red

Rating: 5.0

The vibrant beauty shines so brightly,
And I don't even begin to see a blemish, not even so slightly,
While your lips are still red only can I wish,
Don't end it all and leave without such a kiss,

I see it in your eyes now,
But all I can help to do is wonder how,
You were here in my arms once someday,
But now times have made it all turn away,

So while you stand so strong,
Without even one wrong,
While your lips are still red,
Hold me close and I just beg,

I'll protect you from whatever harm comes to you,
And show you all that you could have too,
Listening and watching I observe around me,
All I know is that clearly, I can't see,

Foggy days are so brightened,
And all my senses are heightened,
As the door opens so widely,
I can sit and watch idly,

While your lips are still red,
I remember all that was once said,
And the memories of those we once were,
Turn into nothing more than a blur.
