White Stones Poem by Charlotte Ballard

White Stones

Wading knee deep
In a sparkling stream
Full of crawdads and smooth
White stones. I wonder
If heaven is nearby

I was wading in just such as stream the other day, and was fascinated by the way the crawdads would shoot away from my footstep like sparks swimming backwards. Never saw that before.
