Who Is I Am? Poem by mamutty CHOLA

This question bothers me a lot
Have been asking this question to self
But failed to get a definite answer yet
Am a son, brother, husband or a father?
What have I achieved in life till now?
Position, status, fame and laurels
All are meaningless and transient in life
We don't know who we are while alive
We flow with time like a boat in a river
When think of my achievements since birth
I find I did not achieve anything worth while
There have been more disappointments than success
Who has achieved everything in life while alive
I will also disappear like a dust amidst the noise
All these relations, loved ones and friends are shadow
We while alive live with attachments; worry for loved ones
At the twilight of my life I feel I have failed
Because of my own follies or adversarial circumstances
I came empty hand and leave empty hand this world
Only desire to make my loved ones secured against all odds.
But I regret I failed to leave my marks on time screen.
