Who Is The Enemy Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Who Is The Enemy

They're sucking our blood, they're making us poor.
I can take it no longer, is it time for war?
Let's stop them from taking from you and me.
Wall Street's the enemy - Let's raise their fees.

Congress says we've got to tighten our belt.
They're paid by the rich - where nothing is felt.
They're attacking our retirement benefits
Let's stop them now - and put an end to it.

If we turn our backs and we sit on our hands,
And let them continue with their grand plans,
Most of us will be amongst the living poor;
While the rich grab the power, even more.

We can't stand by, and see our rights fly away.
The politicians have been bought - that's what I say.
The corporations now have the power;
They're sitting up there, in their Golden Tower.

Billions of stocks traded every single day.
To keep them from stealing, our future away;
A few pennies per trade is the best fate,
Let's stop them now before it's too late.

Let's stop them now - and put an end to it!
It's time to rise up - Not time to sit!
Don't sit there and say it won't affect me;
Or you'll be poor too - Just wait and see!

They control the money - they control the wealth.
It's out in the open - It's not by stealth.
You're needed now, to stop this attack,
Before you're the next one, to be stabbed in the back.

I'll say it again and again - Listen to me!
Wall Street's the one that's the enemy.
They've bought everyone they need;
To take the money from You and Me.

They steal our money with the 401K;
Matching our funds, to sway us their way.
Oh, we think it's free money - there's no such thing;
Then they steal our money with the crash they bring.

Open your eyes - let your mind's eye see,
The game is fixed against You and Me.
It gets worse every day - now they're attacking our pay.
We've got to stop it now - ON THIS VERY DAY.
