Who, Me? Poem by Margaret Kollmer

Who, Me?

Rating: 4.0

Like a fleeting wisp of cloud
I hold you briefly -
then you're gone
taking with you the warmth
of our togetherness
leaving me chill
and shut out of your life.
Remote as the windswept hills
you retreat
fearing rejection.
But why should you?
When you hold my heart
in your care
just as I hold yours in mine.
