Who Says? Poem by Lexi Balla

Who Says?

Rating: 5.0

They say
Athletes
are all brawn,
no brain.
Can't even talk
right.
Let alone
form a coherent
sentence in an
english class
Let alone
write poetry.
Well.
I can
feel the music
on a keyboard
or flowing
from a pen
just as easily
as I can
feel the music
flowing from my fingers
in the heat of a game.
Ball on a string from my hands.
Who says that I can't be both?
A writer
AND
an athlete?
Who says
that I can't be
Strong,
Fast,
Quick,
Tough,
as well as
Smart,
Emotional,
and
a
Writer?
Well.
I say.
I can do both.

To angie when will those clouds all disappear? : You're a douchebag and apparently a grammar Nazi who can't appreciate the message behind language. Go play in traffic.
