Who Shall I Be

You’ll never see me chasing time,
Against my will of need again,
Or cutting the apple orchard,
And stirring the mist about,
I won’t say I saw a stranger,
As my reflection,
I’ll pass my time crossing with THE THIEFS,
Or maybe even with THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS,
If they’ll let me sing,
A song for the dead,
I’ll garden with AIR,
Or color with MR. ABSTRACT,
Or weaver words together like THE POET,
I thought of dyeing,
And acting too,
But none of them felt just right,
Being an animator took too much time,
And cheering was too happy,
But some of us can find happiness in a horizon,
Or love a waste of time,
For now I’ll sit,
And wait,
And maybe do some thinking,
For I could never be part of THE THIEFS,
They say I’m too forgiving,
Or be welcome with THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS,
For I do not have wings,
I could never drift like AIR,
Or shade like MR. ABSTRACT,
I’ve never heard of the word ‘beautiful’ so THE POET will not let me write,
I cannot even be MYSELF,
For I haven’t found MYSELF yet, but don’t fret, I’m still looking.
